    Let's Go to China

As a culmination to their social studies unit about China, third graders at Forest Brook Elementary School attended the in-house assembly, "Let's Go to China" with award-winning singer-songwriter, recording artist, TV personality, filmmaker and author, Patricia Shih. The students learned about the history, language, music, art, dance, geography and culture of this fascinating country. They practiced some Chinese phrases, played Chinese instruments, joined in on a ribbon dance, and volunteered to be a lion dancer in a Chinese New Year reenactment. The third graders enjoyed learning about the world's oldest continuous civilization. Please click on the title to view all photos
