About Family and Consumer Science
Family and Consumer Science is a practical area of study that utilizes knowledge from all subject areas to enrich every aspect of everyday living. Students are given opportunities to develop talents, acquire new skills, learn more about themselves and explore vocational possibilities. Upon completion of the Family & Consumer Science course of study students will:
*Use problem-solving steps to solve real-life problems with consideration to fulfilling short & long-term goals.
*Comprehend the developmental stages of human growth by creating and maintaining a healthy living environment, using methods of enhancing positive self-esteem, and using effective communication techniques.
