    IN HONOR OF MARCH BEING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH, HAUPPAUGE HIGH SCHOOL WILL SPOTLIGHT SIGNIFICANT WOMEN THROUGHOUT THE MONTH.  TODAY WE ARE SPOTLIGHTING WILMA MANKILLER.  IN 1985, WILMA MANKILLER BECAME THE FIRST WOMAN ELECTED PRINCIPAL CHIEF OF THE CHEROKEE NATIN.  DURING HER 10 YEARS IN OFFICE, SHE WORKED TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF HER PEOPLE THROUGH EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE.  IN 1988, WILMA WAS AWARDED THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, THE HIGHEST HONOR FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS.

     

    SOCIAL AWARENESS/SADD WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL WHO SUPPORTED OUR GREEN BAGEL SALE.  IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS.  COME JOIN US FOR OUR NEXT MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20TH AFTER SCHOOL IN ROOM 151 TO DISCUSS OURNEXT PROJECT AS WELL AS OUR UPCOMING CHARITY WALK.

    THE SUFFOLK COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN POLICE AND THE SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS 2019 PROM IMPACT PROJECT.  ON SUNDAY, MARCH 31ST PROM IMPACT WILL BE HELD AT SUFFOLK COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN BRENTWOOD FROM 11 AM – 5 PM.  ADMISSION IS FREE AND BY ATTENDING, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO:

    1. ONE DRESS OR SUIT
    2. ONE PAIR OF SHOES
    3. ONE ACCESSORY
    4. TWO PIECES OF MAKEUP

    FREE TICKETS CAN BE PICKED UP IN ROOM 251.
