    ELA:

The mission of the Hauppauge Middle School 6th grade English Language Arts programs prepare our students to transition to rigors of a secondary education guided by a balanced literacy program aligned with the NYS Common Core standard. Through the use of multiple genres we will develop reading and writing skills that will in turn foster life-long learners and dynamic precise communicators.

     Social Studies:

This course emphasizes the interdependence of all people with a specific concentration on the Eastern Hemisphere.  This is achieved through the study of cultural, social, historical and political events.  Economics and geography are used to critically evaluate the material taught and help compare and contrast the Eastern Hemisphere with our own.
