My name is Mrs. Brady. I have been teaching at Pines Elementary School for the past sixteen years. I have taught remedial reading to students in grades K-5 through various forms of instruction. This year I will continue to oversee the implementation of the System 44 program. This program uses advanced computer technology to enhance and individualize students' reading instruction. The program will teach the skills identified in research as essential to learning to read.
The mission of the Hauppauge Elementary Reading Department is to provide the opportunity for our students to become readers, writers and lifelong learners in a safe, nurturing environment guided by the principles of Balanced Literacy and aligned with the New York State Standards. By using a variety of genres it our goal to prepare all students to comprehend and analyze complex text and develop a love of literacy.
