I have been a Reading Specialist at Bretton Woods since 1993 providing a variety of reading services to students, parents and staff. Currently I teach first graders in the Reading Recovery and Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) programs. I also provide Academic Intervention Services (AIS) for students in Grades 2-5.
My favorite book is Watty Piper's The Little Engine That Could. It's more than a favorite book, it's actually a philosophy of life I try to instill in my students!
If you think you can...You will
Getting students to believe in themselves is often the first hurtle to overcome when students are experiencing difficulty learning to read.
Having a "Can Do" attitude is what I strive for because it helps students succeed as they travel on the road to becoming life-long readers and writers.
