Mrs. CarpinoneGood day. I am one of the Reading Specialist at Bretton Woods Elementary School. As a remedial AIS reading teacher, I employ a variety of reading instructional programs to help students master the foundational reading and spelling skills identified as essential to the literacy process. I am a certified WILSON Dyslexia Practioner and I am currently pursuing my certification as a WILSON Dyslexia Therapist.Along with Mrs. Leventhal, I am a Community Service club advisor where students read to the residents of the Islandia Arbor House and foster relationships across the generations. The list of dates for Community Services is available on my Community Service Dates page.
I love being a Reading teacher because I believe reading is the foundation for academic and personal growth. My goal is to promote a love of reading in all children. The Boy Who Loved Words is just one of my favorite books. It is filled with a plethora of luscious words. The author, Roni Schotter, celebrates the gift of words and shows how a passion for words can be shared with everyone. Visit Storylineonline and find a plethora of books that you can enjoy. I hope you will find a book that you are passionate about and share it too.
