Closing Remarks - Senior Class Public Relations Officer Lexi Manuel
Good evening graduates, families, friends, and staff. It is hard to believe that 13 years ago many of us set foot in Bretton Woods, Forest Brook, or the Pines. Even if you didn’t start in Hauppauge, memories came flooding back when were given the opportunity, last week, to go back and visit the place where it all began.
For me, it began at the age of 4 walking into Ms. Czachor’s Kindergarten class. Since then, I have been fortunate to have so many wonderful teachers and mentors throughout my school career. Thanks to each and every one of you for educating and guiding us to where we are today, while inspiring us to always do more than we thought was possible. Thinking about what I was going to say in my closing remarks, a quote from Walt Disney consistently came to the forefront of my mind. He said, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
I have witnessed many of you work so hard and you’re so dedicated to your passions whether it is excelling in a sport, being a part of the many clubs our school offers, or even being a member of the music department. No matter what your passion has been, our class has had the innate ability to always strive to be the best. In closing, I would like to say, our lives are just beginning and the best is yet to come. Continue to have the courage to follow your passions and dreams no matter what life throws your way. Always remember that even happy endings have some bumpy roads getting there. I couldn’t have asked for a better class of 324 peers to share my high school experience with than the Hauppauge Eagles Class of 2018. Congratulations to my fellow graduates. Good luck and thank you.
