Talented HHS Athletes Sign to Play at College
On Friday, December 1, the Hauppauge High School Varsity Track and Field Team participated in a match at the Armory. Nick Crociata won the 600 Meter run with time of 122.37. As of Friday, that was the top time in the Nation this season.
It easy to see why Lehigh University has already signed Nick to run for them next year. Mr. Crociata is an outstanding individual. This fall, Nick helped to lead the HHS Varsity Volleyball Team to claim the Suffolk County Championship. Nick is a member of the National Honor Society, the Tri-M Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and the Youth and Community Alliance. Mr. Crociata also serves as the Vice President of the freshman Orientation Club. He is excited to attend Lehigh University in the fall where he plans on majoring in Bio-Chemistry.
Briana Farren has committed to play Lacrosse next year for East Stroudsburg University. Ms. Farren also plays Soccer and is a member of the Varsity Club. She plans on studying Physical Education.
Sean Finneran will be attending Milwaukee College of Engineering where he will play Lacrosse. While at HHS, Mr. Finneran is a member of the National Honor Society, German Honor Society, and German Club. Sean plans on studying Bio-Molecular Engineering with an eye on a future in the medical field producing synthetic cells and researching new ways to fight cancer.
Timothy Grosso has also committed to play Lacrosse at college next fall. He has signed with SUNY Cortland. Mr. Grosso also plays Soccer and is a member of the Varsity Club and the DECA Club, (https://www.deca.org/about/). Timothy looks to pursue a career in Finance by majoring in Business Economics.
Mark Homfeld is headed to Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee to play Lacrosse. Mr. Homfeld is also a member of the HHS Varsity Football Team. He plans on studying Business at college.
Jill Lawrence has agreed to play Tennis at Methodist University. Ms. Lawrence is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Honor Society, and the French Honor Society. Jill plans on majoring in Business with an eye towards a career in Professional Tennis Management.
Lauren Mastandrea has signed on to play Soccer at Brandeis University. Ms. Mastandrea also participates in Winter Track and is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and the Varsity Club. Lauren plans on majoring in Biology at college with hopes of one day becoming a doctor.
Peter Sanderson is a Baseball player who was scooped up by the College of Mount Saint Vincent to play for them. Mr. Sanderson plans to study Education. He hopes to become a teacher.
Gabrielle Savarino will be heading to Pennsylvania in the fall to attend Shippensburg University where she has signed on to play Lacrosse. Ms. Savarino is also a member of the HHS Track Team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. Gabrielle will major in Chemistry working towards becoming a Chemical Engineer.
Connor Schildt signed to play Baseball for Hagerstown Community College where he plans to study Business.
Nicole Scudero is headed to SUNY Binghamton where she has agreed to play Soccer. Ms. Scudero is a member of the National Honor Society and the Varsity Club. She plans on pursuing a career in Business Management.
Jake Silverstein was just included in Newsday’s Top Ten High School Wrestlers on Long Island. His remarkable talent has led Mr. Silverman to sign with a Big 10 school to wrestle next year. Jake will be wrestling for the University of Nebraska where he plans on studying Engineering. Jake also plays Lacrosse.
Yet another HHS Lacrosse player has committed to play at college next year. Danielle Waters will be playing for the University of Tampa. Ms. Waters also plays Soccer and is on the Track Team. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and the Best Buddies Club. Danielle plans on pursuing a career in Nursing.
