Kidsday Class of the Week
5th Grade students in Ms. Weeks and Ms. Gray's 2016-17 class were the Class of the Week in Newsday in August 2017. Any class that wants to participate contacts Newsday and lets them know about the wonderful things that their class is doing. When accepted, Newsday sends the information to Mr. Pat Mullooly, the "Kidsday Guy." Mr. Mullooly comes in to work with the class several times during the year. He is an incredibly dynamic individual. The students get t-shirts, reporters badges, make a Facebook video, and several go on the celebrity interview in Manhattan. This summer, as students were enjoying time spent with family and friends, the administration, faculty and staff at Hauppauge Public Schools were hard at work exploring ways to improve on an already dynamic educational program. Nothing is more complex, challenging, or important than assuring high levels of learning for each and every student.
