  • Dear Parents and Guardians,

The teachers and staff of Bretton Woods join me in greeting you as we practice what we preach every morning when we recite our motto, "Think Twice, Always Be Nice...Live and Act Like Champions"!  Here at Bretton Woods, we are committed to supporting our district's mission statement of "providing an environment for effective teaching and learning by fostering an atmosphere of cooperation, respect, and collaboration among students, staff, and community".  Our staff looks forward to working with you and your students as we lay the foundation in elementary school for the years to come.

At Bretton Woods we embrace the best educational practices, while providing a safe and nurturing environment for all to thrive in.  We are dedicated to preparing students for the challenges presented by our ever-changing world.  We strongly believe that all students are entitled to a stimulating and secure learning environment.

Our parent handbook (https://www.hauppauge.k12.ny.us/cms/lib/NY01913704/Centricity/Domain/651/Parent%20Handbook%202018-2019.pdf) contains information that you will find helpful throughout the school year.  Please take some time to review it, most importantly, our lateness policy which is listed on page 2.  It is of the utmost importance that all students consistently arrive on time to school.  Arriving on time to school will make sure you are doing your part to help keep our learning environment as productive as possible.

I look forward to meeting and working with you and your children as a team, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to realize their full potential as confident, successful students.

    Warmest Regards,
    George Gagliardi
    Principal
