Hauppauge Public Schools

Congratulations to the following members of the boys swimming team: Justin Plaschka, Phil Quartararo, Travis and Trevor Maida for qualifying for the New York State Swimming Championships next weekend in Rochester, NY March 1st and 2nd. Justin Plaschka was crowned the Suffolk County MVP for the 2nd year in a row by winning both the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events. He set a new Suffolk County record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.61. Justin’s times in the 100 free 45.61 and 200 free 1:41.73 are also new Hauppauge records. Hauppauge’s 200 Medley Relay of Plaschka, Phil Quartararo, and Travis and Trevor Maida also qualified for the States with a time of 1:39.85. This time is also a new Hauppauge school record breaking the old record that was established in 1980. They also broke the Hauppauge record in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.22. Congratulations and good luck in states!

Jasmine Davis Represented Hauppauge in the NYSPHAA Track and Field Championships she finished 16th in NYS and she also broke her school record. A record that had previously stood for 20 years.
