  • Inspiration Takes Shape with 3-D Printer

Three years ago Hauppauge High School was provided a grant that allowed the purchase of a 3-D printer that can physically print out objects designed in the computer aided design program. Mr. Milliesen, technology teacher, and his students have been exploring more of the potential of the printer and are now producing some creative ideas and products that are turning heads. This fully operational Dune buggy (pictured) was printed out on the 3-D printer. It is just the beginning of the creative possibilities that our program is eager to pursue. “We hope to build our CAD (Computer Aided Design) program and grow the number of students in our new Inventors Club.” said Mr. Milleisen. The club meets on Wednesday’s right after school in room 241. All Students are welcome.

It also acts as a fundraiser for Adopt a Family, which provides assistance to Hauppauge families during the holiday season.
